Morning visit to Barrabazaar - one of the largest tribal markets in Asia known for its display of diverse, colourful and bizarre items. Visit to WWII Cemeterary. Remainder of the day can be spent at leisure. Overnight in Kohima.
After breakfast travel an hour or so to Khonoma village which is inhabited by the brave Western Angami Nagas. The village is famous for its green/environmental initiatives, sustainable terraced paddy farming as well as preservation of the local cultural heritages. Khonoma is potentially the first UNESCO World Heritage Site designate in wait in Nagaland. Check-in at a small Resort or in two/three Homestays. Tour of the unique village. Overnight.
After breakfast drive to Majuli Island. Known for its affinity to a radical form of Vaishnavism introduced by social reformer and spiritual guru of Assam Srimanta Shankar Dev, Mauli is the epicentre of the confluence of Assam's diverse cultures and heritages. Being the second largest riverine Island of the world, Majuli has been shortlisted by UNESCO as World Heritage Site although it is already threatened by the massive erosion caused by Brahmaputra. Overnight at Homestay or small Guesthouse accommodation.
Drive approx. 05 hours to Ziro Valley in Central Arunachal Pradesh - Apatani valley of Ziro. The Apatanis are well known for their unique rice/paddy culture. The best part is how they actually live in perfect harmony with the surrounding nature and protect the natural environment by practicing a highly advanced yet traditional and sustainable livelihood and cultures.
