Meet your guide, with stopovers into the picturesque view points reach Lava. Visit the Lava Monastery, from the top most point you will get an overview of the vast Neora Valley National Park, the Kolakham Village and the accommodation you will be staying for the next few days. After a cup of tea drive further for ten kilometres through the National Park to reach Kolakham. You will be greeted with smiling faces of the host, follow them to climb the stairs to reach your home. Overnight.
The village is located perfectly so that every corner has the view of wide mountainous landscape with the world’s third highest mountain dominating & blessing the valley. Early morning you can just sit to see the rays approaching towards the snow peaks. After breakfast if you are fit and able to hike the strenuous path, the guide shall follow the forest & village trails and reach the Changey waterfall, spending some time there, hiking further to the village where your traditional Rai community village lunch awaits. While the lunch is served, learn about the Rai Community and their animistic culture of living with nature. You can also visit the backyard organic farms from where your food was grown and became a part of you. Slowly your day ends into the village and drive back to your stay.
Early morning with packed breakfast, drive for a jungle safari into the Neora Valley National park, the path is very rough and bumpy only 4x4 jeeps will pass through. Neora Valley NP is one of the richest biological zones of Eastern India, so spotting wildlife or birds is common but one must be lucky enough to get the glimpses of exotic species. Although the forest experience matters the most and it brings calmness and peace into the mind. As the safari ends, drive back to Kolakham for lunch. Relaxed evening with campfire can be arranged.
After breakfast, with happy memories, say goodbye to the smiling faces of your extended family, travel further to your onward destination or a connective journey to Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Gangtok or Siliguri.
